3001 BIRTH: Edward is identified in the will of his father, Thomas Tucker of Bethersden, 8 Dec 1673, proved 14 Jan 1673/4, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 73:280 (FHL #188974). Year of birth is estimated by family chronology and suggested birth order in father's will. Tucker, Edward (I13996)

3002 BIRTH: Edward is identified in the will of his father, Waters Dickinson of Billingborough, 30 Dec 1590, proved 20 Apr 1591, Consistory Court of Lincoln, reg wills, 75:1:315-16 (FHL #198848). Date and place of birth are approximations. The identification is further proved by the mention of his mother Alice in Edward's will, below.
MAR: No mar rec found. Alice, "wife of Edward Dickinson," was buried, 19 May 1592 (Billingborough par reg [FHL #1450460 item 4). Edward had children at Billingborough as early as 2 Sep 1581.
DEATH: Billingborough par reg (FHL #1450460 item 4). This entry appears to be dated in 1594/5, but the correct year is 1593/4. See the nuncupative will of Edward Dickinson of Billingborough, 19 Jan 1593/4-5 Feb 1593/4, Consistory Court of Lincoln, reg wills, 78:344 (FHL #198851). The parish register was copied to parchment in 1598. Several dates appear to be misaligned with probate records and the bishop's transcripts during the 1590s, suggesting probable copy errors.
Dickinson, Edward (I12527)

3003 BIRTH: Edward is identified in the will of his father, William Brown of Bethersden, 31 Jan 1556/7, proved 17 May 1557, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 31:121 (FHL #188934). Brown, Edward (I13728)

Prudence is believed to be his cousin, the dau of Nicholas Clapp, based on the will of Nicholas's son John Clapp of Dorchester, 11 Jul 1655, proved 30 Aug 1655, which calls Edward "brother" and "brother-in-law" and mentions his "cousins," Prudence, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Susannah Clapp (Suffolk Co. Probate, misc docket, [o.s.] 1:111 [FHL #584127]). The "cousins" are children of Edward Clapp.

Edward Clapp administered the estate of Elizabeth, widow of William Cockerill, on 28 Jun 1664, by right of his marriage to one of the widow's daughters (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. 3010 BIRTH: Elizabeth is called "sister" in the will of William Rogers of Watford, 13 Aug 1585, proved 9 May 1586, Archdeaconry Court of Northampton, reg wills, V:214 (FHL #187587).
