BIRTH: George F. Sanborn, Jr, and Melinde Lutz Sanborn, eds, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 2 vols. (Boston, 1992-98), 1:86 (FHL #974.26/H3 V2s).
CHR: Reg of Hampton 1st Congregational Church, by corr, 30 Mar 1998, Melinde Lutz Sanborn, Derry, NH.
MAR #1: Mar rec is not found in extant New Hampshire vital recs or in Hampton Falls Congregational Church recs. Mar info is provided in V. C. Sanborn, GENEALOGY OF THE FAMILY OF SAMBORNE OR SANBORN (Privately printed, 1899), 99 (FHL #599237 item 2). The authenticity of this information in unknown, but Sanborn presumably acquired it from church or family recs. Hampton Falls church records confirm that Richard and wife Elizabeth were members in 1724 ("The Church Records of Hampton Falls, beginning January 2d 1712" [typescript, n.d.], 99 [FHL #015560 item 4]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. A wife Judith is mentioned in Richard's will, below. The estate records of Jonathan Prescott of Kensington confirm that his widow Judith was the wife of Richard Sanborn by 25 Jul 1753 (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39 [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 3:272-75 [FHL #974.2 P2p]). Jonathan Prescott married Judith Gove at Hampton Falls, 3 Apr 1721 (Ruth L. Nichipor, ed, VITAL STATISTICS FROM THE TOWN RECORDS OF HAMPTON FALLS [Hampton Falls, NH, 1976], 54 [FHL #974.26/H2 V2n]).
DEATH: Roland D. Sawyer, comp, "Kensington Vital Statistics - Marriages and Deaths" (typescript, 1943), pt. 2, p. 7 (FHL #015563 item 13). Aged 81 yrs. Also see the will of Richard Sanborn of Kensington, 8 Apr 1772, proved 29 Sept 1773, inv 19 Oct 1773, Rockingham Co. Probate Files, #4047 (FHL #1578098).

MAR: "The Church Records of Hampton Falls, beginning January 2d 1712" (typescript, n.d.), 22 (FHL #015560 item 4). Husband was "of Kingston," NH. The mar is also found in Priscilla Hammond, ed, "Vital Records of Kingston, New Hampshire, 1681-1823" (typescript, 1936), 10 (FHL #974.26/K2 V2h).
DEATH: V. C. Sanborn, GENEALOGY OF THE FAMILY OF SAMBORNE OR SANBORN (Privately printed, 1899), 86 (FHL #599237 item 2). Since the husband married his 2nd wife, Ann Evens, at Kingston on 3 Sep 1718, the 1717 death year for Joanna is not unlikely.

MAR #1: Ibid, 1:77.
MAR #2: Ibid, 1:79. The wife is called Mary Boulter, widow, on mar rec. She is apparently the widow of Nathaniel Boulter, Jr, of Hampton who died in 1689 leaving a widow Mary. See the inv of estate of Nathaniel Boulter, Jr, of Hampton, 24 Feb 1692/3, New Hampshire Province Probate, 1:341 (FHL #015458). Abraham Drake, Sr, of Hampton deeded land to his children, including Mary Sanborn, on 14 Jan 1708/9 (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 63:270 [FHL #015440]). It is believed that Mary Drake married (1) Nathaniel Boulter, and (2) Richard Sanborn.
DEATH: No death rec found, but Richard probably died in Hampton shortly after deeding land to his children on 26 Oct 1716 (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 20:426 [FHL #015418]). The deed is in the form of a will and charged his son Shubal to pay his just debts and funeral expenses and to maintain his (Shubal's) mother.

MAR #1: Ibid, 1:78.
MAR #2: No mar rec found. A wife Sarah is identified in Nathaniel's will, below. She is called Sarah "Nason" in V. C. Sanborn, GENEALOGY OF THE FAMILIES OF SAMBORNE OR SANBORN (Privately printed, 1899), 85 (FHL #599237 item 2). This is probably based on Nathaniel calling Jonathan Nason "kinsman" in his will. However, Jonathan Nason was married to Huldah Sanborn a niece of Nathaniel Sanborn. The correct identification is found in a deed from Sarah Sanborn, wife of Nathaniel of Hampton, and her sister Abigail Waters, single woman, to their brother Daniel Waters of Topsfield, Mass., in which they quitclaimed their interest in the estate of their late father, James Waters of Topsfield, deceased, 14 Oct 1709 (Essex Co. Deeds, 24:274 [FHL #866024]).
DEATH: Hampton Falls Vital Records, 1:125 (FHL #015161). The entry shows that death occurred on 9 Nov 1723, but the inv of estate was taken 28 Nov 1722. The death date is adjusted to 1722. See the will of Nathaniel Sanborn of Hampton [Falls?], 25 Oct 1721, proved 4 Jun 1723, inv 28 Nov 1722 (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39 [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 2:138-40 [FHL #974.2 P2p]).
