Andrews Moriarty, "Genealogical Research in England- Mohun (or Moone)-Hyde," NEHGR, 81(1927):94 (FHL #974 B2ne).
MAR: Wife is identified in the 1623 Visitation of Dorsetshire, above. Mardate is from John Paul Rylands, ed, THE VISITATION OF THE COUNTY OF DORSET TAKEN IN THE YEAR 1623, 2 vols. (Westminster, 1863), 2:742 (FHL #Q942.33 H2hu).

BIRTH: MEMOIRS OF ROGER CLAP (Boston, 1844), originally published in Boston, 1731, Appendix by James Blake, Jr, 53 (FHL #929.273 C53d). James Blake (b. 1688) asserted that he was acquainted with the family. He was, in fact, married to a granddaughter of Roger Clapp.
CHR: H. B. Clark and C. A. T. Fursdon, eds, "Salcombe Regis Bishops Transcripts, 1609-1701" (typescript, 1930; Devon & Cornwall Record Society), unpaginated (FHL #916930).
MAR: No mar rec found in original source records. Children of Roger Clapp and his wife Joan were born at Dorchester beginning in 1634. Roger's will, below, mentions his "wife's Father Ford at Windsor." This could be no other than Thomas Ford. The identification is confirmed, and the mar date is supplied in Blake's Appendix to MEMOIRS OF ROGER CLAPP, 55. The Fords were also a Dorchester family in 1633 making it highly likely that the mar occurred in that place.
DEATH: BOSTON BIRTHS, BAPTISMS, MARRIAGES, AND DEATHS, 1630-1699, 9th Report Boston Record Commissioners (Boston, 1883; repr Baltimore, 1994), 193 (FHL #974.461 V2a). Also see the will of Roger Clapp of Boston, 19 Nov 1690, proved 5 Mar 1690/1, Suffolk Co. Probate, #1820, (n.s.) 8:35(FHL #594175).

BIRTH: Michael is idenified in the will of his father, Lawrence Hills of Molash, 21 Jan 1558/9, proved 16 May 1559, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 33:250 (FHL #188936). He may be the Michael Hills who was buried at Baldesmere, 27 Dec 1597, but this is not certain. | Hills, Michael (I13657)

BIRTH: Michael is identified in the (Latin) will of his father, John A'Denne of Kingston, 7 Oct 1473, proved 20 Jan 1475/6, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 2:443 (FHL: #188918). Michael is also found on the pedigree of Denne of Denne, 1619 Visitation of Kent, in John Philipot, THE VISITATION OF KENT TAKEN IN THE YEARS 1619-1621 (London, 1898), Publications of the Harleian Society, 42:99-101 (FHL #942 B4h). Michael is called the son and heir of John Denne in another pedigree compiled in the mid-17th century by Henry Oxenden of Barham. See "Extracts from a Seventeenth Century Note-book," THE GENEALOGIST, n.s., 31(1915):272 (FHL #942 B2gqm). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: The 1619 visitation of Kent, above, states that Michael's wife was Christian, daughter and heiress of (----) Combe. However, Christian is called the daughter and heiress of Robert Fort in the Oxenden pedigree, above.
DEATH: The Oxenden pedigree, above, claims Michael died in 9 Henry 7 [1493/4]. This is consistent with Michael's will probate date of 27 May 1493 in Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, Act Books, 1:34 (FHL #189263). The will, however, was apparently not recorded.
