She is no doubt the widow of William Pritchet of Suffield, whose inv, 1 Mar 1698, mentions widow Rebecca (Hampshire Co. Probate, 3:43 [FHL #879184]). William "Pritchard" and Rebecca Tailor of Suffield were married on 22 Jan 1695/6 (Springfield Vital Records, 1:18 [FHL #185414]).

MAR #1: Ibid, 2:384. This rec calls the wife Elinor Satchwell (Shattswell). It is almost certain that she is the widow of Richard Shattswell of Ipswich whose will, 16 May 1698, proved 4 Jul 1698, mentions a wife Elinor (Essex Co. Probate [o.s.], 306:31-32 [FHL #860486]). Richard Shattswell and Elinor, dau of Daniel Cheney, deceased, were married at Newbury, 17 Dec 1696 (VITAL RECORDS OF NEWBURY, 2 vols. [Salem, MA, 1911] 2:99 [FHL #974.45/N1 V28v]).

MAR: VITAL RECORDS OF ROWLEY, 2 vols. (Salem, MA, 1928-31), 1:426 (FHL #974.45/R1 V28v). Record calls wife "Elizabeth Safford of Ipswich," but there is evidence that this was a clerical error for Rebecca Safford, Elizabeth's sister. Newbury vital records show that Nathan's wife was Rebecca as early as 1692 when their first child was born. Rebecca's age at death suggests a birth year consistent with Rebecca Safford's age. Finally, Elizabeth Safford married Alexander Lovell at Ipswich, 20 July 1697 (VITAL RECORDS OF IPSWICH, 2 vols. [Salem, MA, 1910], 2:384 [FHL #974.45/I2 V2c]).

MAR: No mar rec found. Thomas's wife is identified as Elizabeth, dau of George Bunker, by a combination of evidence. Thomas's wife Elizabeth consented to a deed of gift to son Samuel, 7 Aug 1718 (Dukes Co. Deeds, 3:338-39 [FHL #911712]). On 22 Dec 1681 Thomas Look of Nantucket acknowledged receipt of land he received from his "father-in-law" Richard Swain (Nantucket Co. Deeds, 1:2:56 [FHL #906232]). Richard Swain had no dau Elizabeth, but Richard married Jane, the widow of George Bunker, of Topsfield in 1658, whose eldest dau was Elizabeth. Hence, it appears that Thomas Look's wife Elizabeth was the stepdaughter of Richard Swain and the dau of George Bunker.
DEATH: No death rec found. See the will of Thomas Look of Tisbury, 4 Dec 1725, proved 1st Tuesday of Jan 1725/6, receipts of heirs 1725-26, Dukes Co. Probate, 2:3-5, 11-13 (FHL #911747).

5777 BIRTH: VITAL RECORDS OF MARLBOROUGH (Worcester, MA, 1908), 26 (FHL #974.44/M5 V2s).
MAR #1: No mar rec found. Children of John Bellows and his wife Hannah were born at Marlborough, 1695-1715. Hannah, wife of John Bellows, is identified in the will of her father, Moses Newton of Marlborough ("Southborough" in probate act), 3 Apr 1724, proved 11 Aug 1736, Worcester Co. Probate, 1:196-98 (FHL #856272). She was refered to as deceased in this document. Hannah Bellows died at Marlborough, 11 Dec 1719, aged 46 yrs (VITAL RECORDS OF MARLBOROUGH, 343).
MAR #2: CONCORD BIRTHS, MARRIAGES, AND DEATHS, 1635-1850 (Boston, 1891?), 101 (FHL #974.44/C4 V2c). Some published sources claim that John's 2nd wife was Sarah Johnson who married a John Bellows at Marlborough, 30 Aug 1723 (VITAL RECORDS OF MARLBOROUGH, 221), and that is was John's son John who married Mary Wheeler. See, for instance, Thomas Bellows Peck, THE BELLOWS GENEALOGY (Keene, NH, 1898), 6 (FHL #929.273 B41752p). However, the children of John and Sarah Bellows recorded in Marlborough and Southborough are mentioned in the will of their father, John Bellows of Southborough, 29 Jul 1771, proved 31 Aug 1772, Worcester Co. Probate, 12:146-47 (FHL #856281). This will was too late to belong to John Bellows (b. 1666). Moreover, Mary, wife of Deacon John Bellows, died in Southborough, 7 Mar 1740/1. The John Bellows who died in 1750 was a deacon. The John Bellows who married Sarah Johnson is no doubt the son of John Bellows (b. 1666).

MAR: No mar rec found. Children of Isaac Bellows and his wife Elizabeth were born at Marlborough, 1694/5-1713. A dau Elizabeth is identified in the will of Isaac Howe of Marlborough, 21 Jun 1723, proved 1 Jan 1724/5, Middlesex Co. Probate Files, 1st series, #12039 (FHL #397100). Four of the sons-in-law, including Isaac Bellows, complained that John Howe, executor of Isaac Howe's estate, deprived them of part of their legacies.
