MAR #1: Ibid, 314. Date is given as 16 Mar 1689. This was confirmed by the original Old Norfolk County Court Records (FHL #877468 item 5). However, all other marriages on this page are dated 1698-1700. It is believed that 1689 is a clerical error for 1698, which is more reasonable, as their 1st child was born in 1699.
MAR #2: VITAL RECORDS OF SALISBURY, 314. This is a mar intention; actual mar rec not found. Wife is called Ruth "Sanders" on mar rec. She is apparently the widow of James Sanders of Amesbury who was dead by 10 May 1743 when his estate was administered (Essex Co. Probate, [o.s.], 323:120 [FHL #875132]). James Sanders, Jr, and Ruth Sweat of Newbury were married on 15 Apr 1729 (VITAL RECORDS OF HAVERHILL, 2 vols. [Topsfield, MA, 1910-11], 2:276 [FHL #974.45/H1 V29h]).
DEATH: VITAL RECORDS OF SALISBURY, 543.
