CHR: Bridport par reg, as cited in Clarence Almon Torrey, "English Origin of Major Aaron Cooke," TAG, 11(1935):180 (FHL #973 D25aga).
MAR #1: No mar rec found. Children of Aaron Cooke and an unknown wife were born at Windsor, Conn., 1638-57 (SOME EARLY RECORDS AND DOCUMENTS OF AND RELATING TO THE TOWN OF WINDSOR, "The Matthew Grant Record, usually called The Old Church Record" [Hartford, 1930], 29 [FHL #974.62/W1 N2c]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. Dau Joan Cooke and grandchildren Elizabeth, Samuel, and Noah Cooke are identified in the will of Elizabeth Denslow of Windsor, 5 Jun 1667, proved 2 Sep 1669 (Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. [Hartford, 1904-1906], 1:191 [FHL #974.6 P2m]). The grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samuel, and Noah Cooke are listed among the children of Aaron Cooke of Windsor, born 1650-57 (SOME EARLY RECORDS OF WINDSOR, 29). Hence, Aaron Cooke married Joan Denslow abt 1649. Elizabeth Denslow was the widow of Nicholas Denslow of Windsor, whose will, 4 Mar 1666/7, no probate act, mentions wife Elizabeth. On 3 Mar 1669/70 Capt. Aaron Cooke petitioned the court to distribute the estate of Nicholas Denslow, "his wife being Co-heir to the Denslow estate." See abstract of estate documents from Hartford District Probate in Manwaring, DIGEST, 1:192.
MAR #3: VITAL RECORDS OF NEW HAVEN, 2 vols. (Hartford, 1917), 1:43 (FHL #974.68 V2v). She died at Northampton, 3 Sep 1687.
MAR #4: "Hampshire Records of Births, Marriages, and Deaths" (private ms of John Pynchon), entries for Hadley, p. 224 (FHL #014766). Wife is called Rebecca Smith on mar rec. She is apparently the widow of Philip Smith of Hadley, whose will, 5 Jan 1684/5, proved 31 Mar 1685, mentions a wife Rebecca (Hampshire Co. Probate, 1:243 [FHL #879184]). Philip Smith was married to Rebecca, dau of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Foote. The will of Elizabeth Welles of Wethersfield, widow of Nathaniel Foote and Gov.Thomas Welles, 28 Mar 1678, no probate act, identifies dau Rebecca Smith. Lt. [Philip] Smith received a portion in the division of estate. See abstract of estate documents from Hartford District Probate in Manwaring, DIGEST, 1:379-81. Rebecca Foote, age 10, is mentioned in the inv of estate of her father, Nathaniel Foote of Wethersfield, 20 Nov 1644, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Manwaring, DIGEST, 1:12. Hence, Rebecca Foote married (1) Philip Smith and (2) Aaron Cooke, as his 4th wife.

John was appointed to administer the estate of Thomas Ford of Northampton with other Ford relatives, 10 Jan 1676/7 (Hampshire Co. Probate, 1:187 [FHL #879184]).
