Yesterday morning at 7:30 o'clock, after a sickness of seve ral weeks, Mary L., second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L . Hildreth, breathed her last, aged seventeen years and ten months. Deceased was taken sick some three weeks ago and her ailment speedily developed into a severe case of typhoid or mountain fever. All that medical skill, loving paren s and kind friends could do for the suffer was done, and a t one time she was thought to be in a fair way to recover , but the fever went to her head and developed into spinal meningitis, and for many days and nights her mind wandered and she had only momentary glimpses of reason. On Thursda y she became so weak that she sank quietly to sleep about four o'clock in the afternoon and slept throughout the night , breathing her last quietly and peacefully, as above stated, surrounded by loving parents, relatives and friends, whose hearts are bowed with an unconquerable grief at her taking away. Miss Mary was a beautiful girl--- as good as she was beautiful --- and her taking has caused a vacency in th e family circle which can never be filled. Only a few week s ago she was filled with health and happiness -- the life of every gathering of young people she attended. Now her body lies clothed in the raiment of the dead and her soul has crossed the river and is now mingling with the heaven y hosts above. The sympathy of a large circle of friends w ill be extended the grief stricked parents and realatives i n this great bereavement.
The funeral will occur this (Saturday) afternoon a t 3 o'clock, from the family residence in East Pueblo. Frie nds of the family are invited to attend the funeral service s. | HILDRETH, Mary L. (I15732)
