It is believed that Thomas is a clerical error for Samuel, who had recently married Thomasine Paine.There is no further record of Thomas and Thomasine Cowland in Kennington. Samuel had a brother Thomas who married Susannah Watkins in 1676. However, Ann is identified in the will of her mother, Thomasine Cowland of Eastwell, 2 Dec 1728, proved 11 Feb 1729, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 87:34 (FHL #188988). This is the Katherine Norcott, widow, who married at St. Leonard Eastcheap to Richard "Fludd," 8 Jun 1596, below. Katherine must have been the wife of John Norcott, who was buried at St. Leonard Eastcheap, 27 Aug 1592 leaving a son John (baptized posthumous, 18 Mar 1592/3). John Norcott received a legacy in the will of Elizabeth Brooke, his grandmother.
