See Bartlett, HENRY ADAMS OF SOMERSETSHIRE (New York, 1927), 27-28 (FHL #929.273 Ad17bj). The evidence seems inconclusive.

Cicely was apparently the widow of Thomas Hilpe who appears in an undated chancery suit, no doubt from the early 1520s, alleging that he married Cicely, dau of Thomas Hickes, but was deprived of his rightful legacy from the will of Thomas Hickes by his widow Ellen (Chancery Proceedings, PRO C1/528/2 21531, by corr, James Butler-Sloss, London, 1996).
