- BIRTH: No birth rec found. No proof is found that Joshua is a son of Benjamin Bixby, although it seems very probable. He is placed in this family in Willard Goldwaite Bixby, A GENEALOGY OF THE DESCENDANTS OFJOSEPH BIXBY (New York, 1914), 37 (FHL #1035524). Considering that Joshua died in Topsfield in 1754, "an aged man," it is difficult to fit him into any of the other families in the area. The children of Benjamin's brothers are well accounted for. Moreover, George Bixby, another son of Benjamin, was surety for the widow's adm of Joshua Bixby's estate, below. Date and place of birth are approximations.
