MAR #1: VITAL RECORDS OF SALEM, 6 vols. (Salem, 1916-25), 3:110 (FHL #974.45/S1 V2e). Wife is called Mary Porter. She was clearly the widow of Joseph Porter, who died at Salem on 12 Dec 1714. See deed from George and Mary Bixby to Mary Lindall, 9 Jan 1720/1, in which Mary is called the administratrix of Joseph Porter (Essex Co. Deeds, 37:193-94 [FHL #866030]). Joseph Porter and Mary Bailey were married at Salem, 3 May 1709 (VITAL RECORDS OF SALEM, 3:93).
MAR #2: VITAL RECORDS OF TOPSFIELD, 2 vols. (Topsfield, MA, 1903-16), 1:123 (FHL #974.45/T1 V2v). Wife is called widow Sarah Cummings on mar rec. David Cummings and Sarah Goodhue filed intentions of mar on 30 Oct 1741 (VITAL RECORDS OF IPSWICH, 3 vols. (Salem, MA, 1910-19), 2:120 [FHL #974.45/I2 V2e]). Two of their children, Archelaus and Jonathan Cummings, received an inheritance from George Bixby, "assigned to the heirs of the second wife of George Bixby" (Essex Co. Probate, 360:182-83 (FHL #875036).
