- MAR: No mar rec found. A wife Sarah is mentioned in the will of Nathaniel Sanborn of Hampton [Falls?], 25 Oct 1721, proved 4 Jun 1723 (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39 [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 2:138-40 [FHL #974.2 P2p]). She is called Sarah Nason in V. C. Sanborn, GENEALOGY OF THE FAMILIES OF SAMBORNE OR SANBORN (Privately printed, 1899), 85 (FHL #599237 item 2). This is probably based on Nathaniel calling Jonathan Nason "kinsman" in his will. However, Jonathan Nason was married to Huldah Sanborn, a niece of Nathaniel Sanborn. The correct identification is found in a deed from Sarah Sanborn, wife of Nathaniel of Hampton, and her sister Abigail Waters, single woman, to their brother Daniel Waters of Topsfield, Mass., in which they quitclaimed their interest in the estate of their late father, James Waters of Topsfield, deceased, 14 Oct 1709 (Essex Co. Deeds, 24:274 [FHL #866024]).
