Notes |
- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. William is called grandson in a deed from Stephen Bachiler, 20 Apr 1647 (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 13:221 [FHL #015415]). Stephen Bachiler, his wife Helen, and dau Ann Sandburn, age 30, applied for a license to pass beyond the sea to visit Stephen's sons and daughters in Flushing, Holland in Jun 1631 (Henry F. Waters, "Genealogical Gleanings in England," NEHGR, 45[1891]:237 [FHL #974 B2ne]). William is apparently the son of widow Ann Sandburn, but William's father is unknown. William is mentioned 3rd of the three grandsons named in the deed from his grandfather in 1647.
MAR: No mar rec found. Children of William Sanborn and his wife Mary are recorded in Hampton, 1660-71 (George F. Sanborn, Jr, and Melinde Lutz Sanborn, eds, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 2 vols. [Boston, 1992-98],1:93, 96, 98, 103 [FHL #974.26/H3 V2s]. The will of John Moulton of Hampton, 23 Jan 1649/50, proved 1 Oct 1650, identifies a dau Mary Sanborn and "son" Sanborn, who could be no other than William Sanborn, as the Mary who married William's brother John Sanborn is clearly a dau of Robert Tuck (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39 [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 1:18-19 [FHL #974.2 P2p]).
DEATH: Sanborn, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 1:118. Also see the will of William Sanborn of Hampton (partially destroyed), no date is evident, no probate act, inv 1 Dec 1692 (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 1:374-76).
