She was the widow of Benjamin Sanborn and Philemon Dalton. James Prescott was accused of trespass by Benjamin, son of Benjamin Sanborn, deceased, 28 Jul 1747. The document shows that James Prescott married the stepmother of the plaintiff (New Hampshire Province Court Files, #20115 [FHL #980228]). Abigail Gove was married 1st to Philemon Dalton at Hampton, 25 Sep 1690 (Sanborn, VITAL RECORDS OF HAMPTON, 1:78). She married 2nd to Benjamin Sanborn abt 1726. On 30 Jul 1726 Benjamin Sanborn and his wife "Abigail Dalton alias Abigail Sanborn" with Michael Dalton, the son of Abigail, sold land to Jacob Moulton (New Hampshire Province Deeds, 27:316 [FHL #015422]). The will of Philemon Dalton of Hampton, 24 Mar 1720/1, proved 6 Sep 1721, identifies his wife Abigail and son Michael, among other children (PROBATE RECORDS OF THE PROVINCE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, 9 vols., repr of New Hampshire State Papers Series, vols. 31-39, [Bowie, MD, 1989-90], 2:130-33 [FHL #974.2 P2p]). Hence, Abigail Gove married (1) Philemon Dalton, (2) Benjamin Sanborn, and (3) James Prescott. DEATH: No death rec found.
