DEATH: Thomas was dead by the early 1520s when an undated chancery suit alleges that his daughter Cicely and her husband Thomas Hilpe were deprived of their rightful legacies from his will by Thomas's widow Ellen Hickes (Chancery Proceedings, PRO C1/528/2 21531, by corr, James Butler-Sloss, London, 1996). Although undated, suits in bundle 528 were heard in the early 1520s.
