- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Jonathan's daughters, Abigail, Mehitable, and Dolly, are identified in the will of their grandfather, Thomas Worthen of Chester, 2 Mar 1769, proved 1 Sep 1773, Rockingham Co. Probate, 22:272 (FHL #016194). Jonathan died in 1764. Chronology suggests he was the eldest child of Thomas Worthen. He was probably born in Amesbury about 1733.
MAR: No mar rec found. A wife Elizabeth is identified in his estate recs, below. Elizabeth is called the dau of Jeremiah Dresser of Concord in David W. Hoyt, OLD FAMILIES OF SALISBURY AND AMESBURY, 3 vols. (Providence, 1897-1916; repr in 1 vol., Baltimore, 1982), 1033 (FHL #974.45 D2h). Proof has not been found in original source records.

Also see the inv of estate of Jonathan Worthen "of Concord," 26 Feb 1765, and acct of widow Elizabeth, 25 Sep 1776, which mentions daughters Mehitable and Dorothy (Rockingham Co. Probate Files, #4268 [FHL #1578565]). Bow and Concord are adjoining towns.
