- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. John is identified in the will of his father, John Eaton of Salisbury, 6 Aug 1668, proved 13 Apr 1669 (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1916-20], 2:155-58 [FHL #974.45 P2p]). Year of birth is calculated from age "about forty years" in deposition, 6 Oct 1659 (RECORDS AND FILES OF THE QUARTERLY COURTS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 9 vols. [Salem, MA, 1911-75], 2:231 [FHL #974.45 P2e]). Most of his younger siblings were baptized at Hatton, Warws, but John's baptism was not found.
MAR: No mar rec found. Children of John Eaton and his wife Martha are recorded in Salisbury vital recs, 1646-1663. John Eaton is included in the agreement of heirs of Thomas Rowlandson of Lancaster, 10 Sep 1658 (Alice E. Busiel, ed, Middlesex Co. Court Papers, box 1659-60, in Middlesex Co. Probate, Miscellaneous Records [transcript, 1917], 340-41 [FHL #385974]). Hence, John married Martha, dau of Thomas Rowlandson.
