- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Jacob is identified in the adm of estate of his father, Thomas Rowell of Andover, 30 Sep 1662 (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. (Salem, MA: 1916-20), 1:395-97 (FHL #974.45 P2p). Jacob was to receive his portion at age 21. Caleb Norton was appointed guardian on 31 Mar 1674 (Ibid, 2:389). Norton reported the property was to be received by Jacob in May 1677 (Ibid, 3:102). Hence, Jacob was born in May 1656. Thomas Rowell resided in Ipswich, 1652-1657.
