MAR: No mar rec found. Samuel had a wife Tabitha, as shown by the birth rec of his son John, 22 Mar 1714/5, in Wells, Maine Vital Records, 1:19 (FHL #012622). She is identified as Tabitha Littlefield, dau of Francis Littlefield of Wells, in Clifford K. Shipton, BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF THOSE WHO ATTENDED HARVARD COLLEGE (Cambridge, MA, 1933), 4:99 (FHL #974.44/C1 J2s). This is proved by the will of Francis Littlefield, 5 Feb 1674, proved 6 Apr 1675, which identifies a dau Tabitha (William M. Sargent, ed, MAINE WILLS, 1640-1760 [Portland, ME, 1887; repr Baltimore, 1972], 54-56 [FHL #974.1 P2s]), and the order for support of Meribah Littlefield, widow of Francis, 11 Jul 1710, where Samuel Emery is identified as a son-in-law (PROVINCE AND COURT RECORDS OF MAINE, 6 vols.[Portland, ME, 1928-75], 4:381-83 [FHL #974.1 P2p]). Date of mar is an approximation; 1st child born 1698.
