- BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations. Roger married and had children baptized at Dartmouth, Devonshire. He may be the son of Thomas Deering baptized as Dartmouth St. Savior's in 1619. The given name of the child and the complete date are now illegible because of tears in the BT. George Deering posted a bond for the appearance of Roger Deering, 7 Apr 1702, when he was charged with failure to go home to his wife (PROVINCE AND COURT RECORDS OF MAINE, 6 vols. [Portland, ME, 1928-75], 2:263 [FHL #974.1 P2p]). George and Roger are no doubt related, but the nature of the relationship is unclear.
