MAR: No mar rec found. Clement and Joanna Deering had children born in Kittery, 1680-92 (Joseph Crook Anderson, II and Lois Ware Thurston, eds, VITAL RECORDS OF KITTERY, MAINE [Camden, ME, 1991], 23 [FHL #974.195/K1 V2v]). The same children are mentioned in the will of his widow, Joan Deering of Kittery, 20 Jun 1707, proved 22 Dec 1707 (William M. Sargent, ed, MAINE WILLS, 1640-1760 [Portland, ME, 1887; repr Baltimore, 1972], 151-53 [FHL #974.1 P2s]). Joan's will also mentions her "brother" William Pepperill. Joan Deering and Margery Pepperill are identified as daughters in the will of John Bray of Kittery, 22 Jan 1688/9, proved 15 Jul 1690 (Ibid, 88-90).
DEATH: No death rec found. Clement's widow, Joan Deering, was granted a license to sell liquor, 2 July 1695 (PROVINCE AND COURT RECORDS OF MAINE, 6 vols. [Portland, ME, 1928-75], 4:42 [FHL #974.1 P2p]).
