- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Birth facts are found in Charles Edward Banks, THE HISTORY OF MARTHA'S VINEYARD, 3 vols. (Boston, 1911-25; repr Edgartown, MA, 1966), 3:223 (FHL #974.494 H2b). No other Jones family is found on Martha's Vineyard at this time. Furthermore, Thomas deeded land in Chilmark to Daniel Jones as an heir to Ebenezer Jones, 27 Apr 1789 (Dukes Co. Deeds, 12:347 [FHL #911715]).
MAR: VITAL RECORDS OF TISBURY (Boston, 1910), 145 (FHL #599267 item 2). The wife is called Jedidah Butler on mar rec, but she was apparently the widow of John Butler of Tisbury, whose will, 31 Mar 1764, proved 30 Jun 1764, mentions a wife Jedidah (Dukes Co. Probate, 5:62-64 [FHL #911748]). John Butler and Jedidah Beetle were married at Edgartown, 5 Dec 1749 (VITAL RECORDS OF EDGARTOWN [Boston, 1906], 101 [FHL #974.494/E1 V2v]).
