- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Mary is identified as the 6-yr-old dau of George Bunker of Topfield, deceased, in his inv of estate, 29 May 1658 (THE PROBATE RECORDS OF ESSEX COUNTY, 3 vols. [Salem, MA, 1916-20], 1:267-68 [FHL #974.45 P2p]). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: VITAL RECORDS OF NANTUCKET, 5 vols. (Boston, 1925-28), 3:148 (FHL #974.497/N1 V2n). This date is from the private records of William C. Folger (not an original source). Also see Mary's will, below, which indicates she is the stepdaughter of Richard Swain, deceased, and the wife of Stephen Coffin. Also see deed from guardians of George Bunker's heirs to the children of George Bunker, 2 Mar 1675/6, in which Mary is called wife of Stephen Coffin (Nantucket Co. Deeds, 2:24 [FHL #906232]).
