- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. John was a passenger on the ship "Hopewell" of London bound for New England, Apr 1635, age 12 (Peter Wilson Coldham, THE COMPLETE BOOK OF EMIGRANTS, 1607-1660 [Baltimore, 1987], 132 [FHL #973 W2col]).
MAR: CONCORD BIRTHS, MARRIAGES, AND DEATHS, 1635-1850 (Boston, 1891?), 8 (FHL #974.44/C4 V2c).
DEATH: VITAL RECORDS OF MARLBOROUGH (Worcester, MA, 1908), 343 (FHL #974.44/M5 V2s). Also see the will of John Bellows of Marlborough, 19 Jun 1683, proved 2 Oct 1683, inv 6 & 8 Aug 1683, Middlesex Co. Probate Files, 1st series, #1518 (FHL #386017). There is an apparent error in John's death date of 10 Jan 1683, as given in Marlborough vital recs. The probate recs show that John died between 19 Jun and 6 Aug 1683. The most likely explanation is that he died on 10 Jul, not 10 Jan.
