- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. John is identified 2nd among the sons in the will of his father, William Parmenter of Little Yeldham, 12 Oct 1613, proved 19 Jan 1617/8, Commissary Court of the Bishop of London (Essex & Herts Div), orig wills, box 30 (FHL #094386). Date of birth is calculated from age 83 on bur rec, below.
MAR #1: No mar rec found. Bridget, "wife of Deacon Parmenter," died at Sudbury, 6 Apr 1660 (VITAL RECORDS OF SUDBURY [Boston, 1903], 320 [FHL #974.44/S1 V2n]).
MAR #2: VITAL RECORDS OF ROXBURY, 2 vols. (Salem, MA, 1925-26), 2:103 (FHL #974.46/B1 V2r). Duplicate entry: "1661." Wife is called Annis "Dane." She is apparently the widow of John Dane, who died at Roxbury, 14 Sep 1658, and who was married there to Ann Chandler, 2 July 1643 (Ibid, 2:103,502). Ann Chandler was the widow of William Chandler, who married Ann Bayford at Farnham, Essex, Eng, 4 Nov 1626 (Farnham par reg [FHL #1472222 item 32]). William Chandler died at Roxbury, Mass., 26 Jan 1641/2. On 19 Oct 1649 John Dane petitioned the General Court for a settlement of the estate of William Chandler, whose widow he married (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, ed, RECORDS OF THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE MASSACHUSETTS BAY, 5 vols. [Boston, 1853-54], 3:177 [FHL #974.4 N2s]). The Chandler family is documented in G. Andrews Moriarty, "The Ancestry of William Chandler of Roxbury," NEHGR, 85(1931):142-45 (FHL #974 B2ne).
