Notes |
- BIRTH: Job is identified in the agreement of heirs of William Chamberlin of Hull, deceased, 29 Apr 1679 (SUFFOLK DEEDS, 14 vols. [Boston, 1880-1906], 12:35-36 [FHL #974.46 R2s]). Date and place of birth are approximations, based on family history and chronology.
MAR: No mar rec found. Job Chamberlin of Hull had a wife Joanna by 5 Mar 1685/6 when she consented to a deed to William Chamberlin (Suffolk Co. Deeds, 44:183 [FHL #493949]). Joanna Chamberlin, apparently the wife of Job, receipted her mother, Joanna Way, widow of Aaron Way of Rumney Marsh (now Chelsea), for her legacy from her father's will and quitclaimed all interest in the land of her father to her mother and brother, Moses Way, 26 Oct 1696 (Suffolk Co. Deeds, 23:204 [FHL #493939]). Furthermore, Moses Way and Job Chamberlin were both among the settlers of Dorchester, South Carolina. See Henry A. M. Smith, "The Town of Dorchester," THE SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL MAGAZINE, 6(1905):74 (FHL #975.7 B2s).
DEATH: No death rec found. Job is last of record in Dorchester, South Carolina when he deeded land in Hull to Thomas Binney, 30 May 1723 (Suffolk Co. Deeds, 84:141-42 [FHL #494592]). Many of his descendants continued in the area.
