- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Faith is identified in the will of her father, Henry Chamberlin of Hull, 8 Dec 1673, proved 29 Jul 1674, Suffolk Co. Probate, #698, (o.s.) 6:54 (FHL #984128). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR #1: No mar rec found. She is called Faith "Patterson" in her father's will, above. She was no doubt the wife of Edward Patterson who had a dau Faith born in Hingham, 20 Jan 1655/6 (Hingham Births, "Boston Records," NEHGR, 13[1859]:214 [FHL #974 B2ne]). Edward removed to Shrewsbury, NJ, where he purchased land from Thomas and Ann Potter. He died before 5 Oct 1672 when the Potters confirmed the sale to Edward's widow Faith (Monmouth Co. Deeds, A:45 [FHL #592647]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. An entry in the lists of quit rents for Shrewsbury in 1685 shows that Thomas Huet married the widow of Edward Patterson (cited in John E. Stillwell, HISTORICAL AND GENEALOGICAL MISCELLANY, 5 vols. [New York, 1903-32; repr Baltimore, 1970], 3:160 [FHL #974 D2sa]). The will of Thomas Huitt of Shrewsbury, 24 Jan 1704/5, proved 19 Dec 1710, shows that he had a wife Faith (NEW JERSEY ARCHIVES, 1st series, 23[1901]:246 [FHL #974.9 B49a]).
