DEATH: Azariah was a soldier during King Philip's War. He was killed at the "Swamp Fight" ten miles north of Hatfield, possibly within the present town limits of Whately. Details of the expedition and the casualty list are found in George Madison Bodge, SOLDIERS IN KING PHILIP'S WAR (Boston, 1906; repr Baltimore, 1991), 128-30 (FHL #974 M2b).
