    • BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations. John married in Ware, Herts and had several children baptized there and at nearby Gt. Amwell.

      MAR #2: No mar rec found. Margery, wife of John Johnson, was buried at Roxbury, 9 Jun 1655 (VITAL RECORDS OF ROXBURY, 2 vols. [Salem, MA, 1925-26], 2:563 [FHL #974.46/R2 V2r]). Margery was admitted to the Roxbury church in 1633 as the wife of John Johnson (ROXBURY LAND AND CHURCH RECORDS, 6th Report Boston Record Commissioners [Boston, 1881], 79 [FHL #974.461 H2b]).
      MAR #3: No mar rec found. In May 1656 the estate of Barnabas Fawer was divided between Eleazer Fawer, his only son, and his widow Grace, now the wife of John Johnson (Nathaniel B. Shurtleff, ed, RECORDS OF THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE MASSACHUSETTS BAY, 5 vols. [Boston, 1853-54], 3:401-402 [FHL #974.4 N2s]). The will of Grace Johnson, 21 Dec 1671, proved 29 Dec 1671, directs that her estate be divided between her brothers, Jonathan Negus and Benjamin Negus (Suffolk Co. Probate, misc docket, [o.s.] 7:175-76 [FHL #584128]). Hence, it appears that Grace Negus married (1) Barnabas Fawer, and (2) John Johnson.
