MAR: Waltham Abbey par reg (FHL #1526972 item 9). Wife is called Margaret Flowde [Floyd]. William's will, below, mentions his "son-in-law" [stepson] William Newman. Margaret was apparently the Margaret Newman who married John Floyd on 14 Aug 1572 (Enfield, Middlesex par reg [FHL #585397]). Margaret is called "widow" on mar lic with William Cheney, both of Waltham Holy Cross, 1 Feb 1580/1 (Joseph Foster, ed, LONDON MARRIAGE LICENCES, 1521-1869 [London, 1887], 276 [FHL #942.1/L1 K28f]).
