- BIRTH: David is identified in the will of his father, Simon Stone of Gt. Bromley, 12 May 1506, proved 10 Feb 1510/11, Stowe Collection, Manuscript Dept, British Museum, London, published verbatim in J. Gardner Bartlett, SIMON STONE GENEALOGY (Boston, 1926), 21-22 (FHL #1018914 item 7). The will was probated in the Commissary Court of London but is not recorded at Chelmsford.
DEATH: No death/bur or probate rec found. David was taxed in the subsidy of Kirby-le-Soken, 20 Oct 1542 (Lay Subsidy, 108-255, cited in Bartlett, SIMON STONE GENEALOGY, 26) The subsidy roll of 13 Oct 1544 shows that Simon Stone, apparently David's son, succeeded to the estate (Lay Subsidy, 109-261, Ibid, 26, 32-33).
