- CHR: Chilham par reg (FHL #1850344 item 2). No parents names are included in chr entry. Only two Austen families were having children at Chilham at this time. Henry and Anne Austen had children baptized in 1627, 1628/9, 1630/1, 1636, and 1639. Thomas and Jane Austen had children baptized in 1636/7, 1641/2, 1643, and 1645/6. Chronologically, it seems most likely that Henry (chr 1633) fits into the family of Henry and Anne. Moreover, the will of Thomas Austen does not mention a son Henry. Henry was no doubt the namesake of his father.
