- BIRTH: Thomas is identified in the will of his brother, Thomas Denne the elder of Kingston, 14 Aug 1542, proved 19 Sep 1542, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 24:136 (FHL #188931). He is also identified in the (Latin) will of his uncle, Thomas Denne of Kingston, 21 [---] 1490, proved Apr 1491, Consistory Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 3:297 (FHL #188834). In the latter will, Thomas refers to the sons of his brother Michael named Thomas Denne and Thomas Denne, Jr. Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: #1: No record of this wife has been found, but several children were born before Thomas's marriage to his second wife.
MAR #2: Thomas's will, below, mentions estate owed to his wife Margaret from the will of William "Naishe." He also gave to his wife Margaret all the property she "brought to me at the day of our marriage." This phrase indicates the wife was previously married with estate of her own. The will of William Nasshe of Barham, 2 Jun 1544, proved 24 Feb 1547, indicates he had a wife Margaret, whom he made sole executrix. The overseer of Nasshe's will was "friend" Thomas A'Denne (Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 25:177 [FHL #188932]). It appears that Thomas Denne married Margaret, widow of William Nasshe, probably about 1548.
