The will of Amy Tewsnode of Bethersden, 27 Dec 1562, proved 26 Mar 1563, shows that she is the mother of sons Simon, James, and John Chittenden, as well as daughters Alice Milsted and Elizabeth Philpott (Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 37:78 [FHL #188938]). Hence, Amy was first married to a Chittenden. No record of this man has been found.
DEATH: No death/bur rec found. He was dead by 12 Jul 1559, when Amy married her 2nd husband.
