- BIRTH: Walter is identified in the will of his mother, widow Thomasine Waterman of Bethersden, 2 Apr 1542, proved 1 Jun 1542, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 22:131 (FHL #188930). The estate adm of John Waterman of Bethersden, 23 Sep 1539, shows that he left a widow Thomasine(Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, adm act books, 10:43 [FHL #189267]). Walter's will mentions a brother James Waterman, who is also mentioned in Thomasine's will. Hence, Walter is the son of John and Thomasine Waterman. Date and place of birth are approximations.
