MAR: St. Margaret's Canterbury BTs (FHL #1736586 item 4). John was "of Boughton Malherbe," wife was "of Egerton." Also see mar lic, 22 Jun 1663, Register of General Licences, 1644-1664, p. 241 (FHL #1836333 item 3). In this document John is incorrectly called "of Boughton Aluph." The Elmstone family is peculiar to the vicinity of Lenham and Boughton Malherbe, however.
DEATH: See the will of John Elmstone of Egerton, 12 Dec 1709, proved, 28 July 1713, Consistory Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 59:12 (FHL #188876). John's burial is not recorded in Egerton BTs, and Egerton par regs have not survived for this period.
