- BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations. John had brothers Richard Weston and Philip Weston. The will of John Weston, below, mentions his brother Richard. Brothers John and Richard are mentioned in the will of Philip Weston of Wye, 30 Mar 1561, proved 10 Oct 1561, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 35:191 (FHL #188939).
MAR #1: No mar rec found, but Cicely is clearly not John's first wife, nor is she the mother of all of his children. The language of John's will shows that she was previously the wife of George Gotely and came into their marriage as a widow. Furthermore, of the eight children identified in John's will, only two, Alexander and Elizabeth, are identified in the will of widow Cicely Weston of Kennington, 3 Dec 1591, proved 18 Dec 1591, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 48:262 (FHL #188946).
