Notes |
- BIRTH: Date and place of birth are approximations. He is perhaps the son or brother of William Stonestreet of Bethersden, whose estate was administered on 24 Mar 1567 (Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, Adm Act Books, 18:48 [FHL #189270]). Another possibility is that he is the son Thomas identified in the will of Robert Stonestreet of Pluckley, 22 Feb 1533, proved 11 June 1534[?], Consistory Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 16:42 (FHL #188841).
MAR #1: No mar rec found, and no evidence of the name of this wife. However, Thomasine, the wife named in Thomas's will was apparently not the mother of all of his children. The will of son William Stonestreet calls Thomasine his "mother-in-law," which meant stepmother in the language of the day. Moreover, the youngest son, Daniel, was nearly 30 years younger than his eldest brother, Reuben.
MAR #2: A wife Thomasine is identified in the will of Thomas Stonestreet, below.
BUR: Bethersden ATs (FHL #1751588 item 3). Also see the will of Thomas Stonestreet of Bethersden, 6 Jan 1579/80, proved 24 Feb 1579/80, Archdeaconry Court of Canterbury, reg wills, 43:264 (FHL #188942).
OCC: Probably a weaver. Thomas left his kersey loom to his son Daniel.
