DEATH: Ibid, 1:49. This entry is not dated but was recorded during 1676. Adm of estate of John and Sarah Keep and the guardianships of their children, 29 Mar 1676, indicate they were killed by the Indians (Hampshire Co. Probate, 1:172 [FHL #879184]). Two contemporary accounts describe the Indian assault on a party of settlers enroute to public worship from Longmeadow (then part of Springfield) on 26 Mar 1676, where a man and woman were reported killed, apparently John and Sarah Keep.
