NOTE: Benjamin was a Yale University graduate of 1768. He was a member of a New England colonizing effort which went to the Natchez, Mississippi area in 1776. The settlement failed, and he went to Savannah, Georgia and St. Augustine, Florida, returning to West Springfield in 1784.
