- BIRTH: No proof has been found that Bjorn or "Born," as he was commonly called in Springfield records, is a son of Johannes. However, he appears in Springfield at the same time as Christian, a proved son of Johannes, and he is about the right age to have been a sibling of Christian. These are the only Van Horns in early Springfield, and it seems doubtful that he was from another family. Bjorn is the Swedish form of Barent. His mother was the dau of Cornelis Mattyssen, a Swede. He was probably born at Teaneck, Hackensack Twp, NJ, where the family of Johannes Christainsen resided. The Reformed Dutch Church recs of Hackensack are meager for this period. See George O.
