- BIRTH: No birth rec found. John is identified in the will of his father, John Burbank of Rowley, 5 Apr 1681, proved 10 Apr 1683, verbatim copy in George B. Sedgeley, GENEALOGY OF THE BURBANK FAMILY (Farmington, ME, 1928), 8-9 (FHL #929.273 B892s). Date and place of birth are approximations based on family history and chronology.
MAR #1: VITAL RECORDS OF NEWBURY, 2 vols. (Salem, MA, 1911), 2:72 (FHL #974.45/N1 V28v).
MAR #2: "Hampshire Records of Births, Marriages, and Deaths" (private ms of John Pynchon), entries for Suffield, p. 123 (FHL #014766). The wife is called "widow Sarah Scone." She is no doubt the widow of John Scone and dau of Edmund Hart. The children of John and Sarah Scone and the death of John Scone on 19 Aug 1684 are found in Westfield Vital Records, A:91 (FHL #185474). The inv of estate of Edmund Hart of Westfield, 15 Jul 1673, mentions son-in-law John Scone (Hampshire Co. Probate, 1:148 [FHL #879184]).
MAR #3: "Hampshire Records," Suffield, 124. The wife is called "Mahetabel Saunders, of Windsor." She is apparently the widow of George Saunders of Windsor and Simsbury who died on 16 Nov 1690. Widow Mehitable is mentioned in the adm of estate of George Saunders, "of Windsor or Simsbury," 3 Sep 1691, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 1:503-504 (FHL #974.6 P2m). Also see Albert C. Bates, ed, SIMSBURY BIRTHS, MARRIAGES, DEATHS, (Hartford, 1898), 12 (FHL #974.62/S4 V2b). "Martha Sanders ye daughter of Georg Sanders which his wife Mehitable, who was daughter of John Bartlet of Windsor bare to him sd Sanders," 6 Jun 1688.
