Entry is interpreted as "Matthew Merrell daughter of Matthew Merrell & Mary his wife" in par reg extracts of Wherstead in Samuel Merrill, A MERRILL MEMORIAL (Cambridge, MA, 1917-28), 38 (FHL #929.273 M552m). It is obvious that the entry is not clear in the original text. However, she is called Martha, dau of Nathaniel Merrill in the will of her grandfather, John Merrill of Wherstead, 2 Dec 1600, proved 11 Dec 1600, Archdeaconry Court of Suffolk, reg wills, 38:242 (FHL #096939).
