MAR #2: Springfield Vital Records, Marriages, 2:110 (FHL #185416). Wife is called Hannah "Day" on mar rec. She was the widow of John Day, who died at Springfield, 21 Nov 1752 (Ibid, 2:30). John Day and Hannah Kent of Hadley were married, 15 Sep 1743 (Hadley Vital Records, 2:2 [FHL #186152]). She was previously the widow of John Kent of Suffield who married Hannah Marsh at Hadley, 1 Dec 1731 (Ibid, 2:1); intentions were recorded at Suffield, 23 Oct 1731 ("Suffield Births, Marriages, Deaths, 1674-1850," Barbour Collection [typescript, 1928; Conn. State Library, Hartford], 142 [FHL #002980]). John Kent died at Suffield, 24 Jun 1737 (Ibid), and Hannah apparently returned to Hadley where her family resided.
DEATH: No death rec found. Luke died in Granville in May 1775, according to published sources. See, Jacobus, HALE, HOUSE, 614. No confirmation has been obtained from original source documents. His estate was not administered until 1778. See the adm of estate of Luke Hitchcock of Granville, 2 Dec 1777, inv presented 2 Jun 1778, guardianships of children 10 Sep 1788 and 1 Jul 1782, Hampshire Co. Probate, 13:111, 201, 228, 508 (FHL #879190).
