- BIRTH: There is no proof that Isaac is a son of Nicholas, but he is generally accepted as such because of his age, the rarity of the Lobdell name, and his appearance in Hingham, where Nicholas Lobdell resided. He also named a son Nicholas. Date and place of birth are approximations. See Douglas Richardson, "Nicholas Lobdell, Founder of the New England Lobdell Family," TAG, 54(1978):35-37 (FHL #973 D25aga).
MAR: No mar rec found. The will of Samuel Ward of Charlestown, 6 Mar 1681/2, proved 3 Oct 1682, identifies "my sonn Isaac Lobdill" and his Lobdill grandchildren. The given name of Isaac's wife is not mentioned in the will, but it is included in a statement by the appraisers of the estate, who identify her as "Mathe [Martha] of Hull dater of Mr. Samuell Ward" (Middlesex Co. Probate Files, 1st series, #23742 [FHL #432073]). Also see deed from Isaac and Martha Lobdell of Hull to John Lobdell, 12 May 1670 (Suffolk Co., Mass. Deeds, 6:190 [FHL #493933]).
