- BIRTH: No birth rec found. Sarah is identified as a 17-year-old dau in the inv of estate of her father, Matthew Woodruff of Farmington, 18 Nov 1691, Hartford District Probate, abstracted in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 1:526-27 (FHL #974.6 P2m). Her place of birth is unclear. The family was in Milford as late as 1673 when Sarah's brother John was born. Matthew and wife joined the Congregational Church at Farmington on 1 Mar 1678/80 (Farmington 1st Congregational Church recs, 1:101 [FHL #004241]).
MAR: No mar rec found. Henry Summer and wife Sarah deeded their inheritance from "uncle" Robert Plum to John Woodruff, 14 Mar 1703/4 (See Milford, Conn. Deeds, 3:331 [FHL #004918]). The will of Robert Plume of Milford, 3 Dec 1703, proved 7 Feb 1703/4, calls John Woodruff "cousin" and gives to "my sister's children" (New Haven District Probate, 3:8 [FHL #005295]). Robert Plume's only sister was Mary, wife of Matthew Woodruff. Hence, Sarah, wife of Henry Summer, is a dau of Matthew and Mary (Plumbe) Woodruff.
