Legatees in the petition for distribution of the estate of John Clark, Jr, of Farmington, 7 Apr 1712, include "Samuel Woodruff, Sen., of Farmington, who married with Rebecca Clark, one of the sisters of Sergt. John Clark, late of Farmington, decd." See abstract from Hartford District Probate recs in Charles W. Manwaring, ed, DIGEST OF THE EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, 3 vols. (Hartford, 1904-1906), 2:178 (FHL #974.6 P2m). Abbott indicates the mar occurred at Farmington, Feb 1685/6, but mar rec is not found in Farmington vital recs (Susan Woodruff Abbott, WOODRUFF GENEALOGY [1963, Milford, CT], 9 [FHL #929.273 W86a]).
