- BIRTH: No birth/chr rec found. Joseph received land in Windsor, Connecticut on his father's right, 10 Oct 1646, with other children of Thomas Newberry (Windsor Deeds, 1:6 [FHL #006188]). He is also identified in the will of his grandfather, Christopher Dabinot of Upway, Dorset, 1 July 1637, proved 4 Aug 1637, P.C.C., 113 Goare (FHL #092138). Date and place of birth are approximations based on history and chronology of family in Marshwood. See J. Gardner Bartlett, NEWBERRY GENEALOGY (Boston, 1914), 35-36 (FHL #000018).
MAR: No mar rec found. Joseph returned to England and had three children recorded at Whitechurch-Canonicorum, Dorset, 1654-1658 (Bartlett, NEWBERRY GENEALOGY, 46-51). His wife's name is not recorded in these entries.
DEATH: No death/bur rec found. Joseph was living in Marshwood on 26 Feb 1673/4, when he administered the nuncupative will of his aunt, Anne Gibbs of Marshwood, widow, P.C.C., 19 Bunce (FHL #092310). He was still there on 20 Dec 1675, when he brought a suit in chancery against his cousin Gideon Haynes (Bartlett, NEWBERRY GENEALOGY, 47-50, citing Chancery Proceedings, Six Clerks Series, Collins 59-59).
