- BIRTH: No birth rec found. John is identified in the will of his father, David Moore of Exeter, 7 Nov 1804, proved 2 Jan 1806, Exeter Probate, 7:98 (FHL #932355). Date and place of birth are approximations.
MAR: No mar rec found. The death rec of Hannah Wilcox of North Kingston, d. 12 Mar 1860, aged 73 yrs, identifies parents as John and Sarah Moore (North Kingston Deaths, 3:10 [FHL #930981]). The will of John Hoxie of Exeter, 9 Feb 1815, proved 6 Mar 1820, identifies a dau Sarah Moore (Exeter Probate, 9:223-26 [FHL #932356]). It is believed that John Hoxie's dau Sarah is the wife of John Moore.
DEATH: No death rec found. John was living on the date of his father's will, above.
NOTE: Two additional children of David Moore are mentioned in Lois J. (Barber) Schroeder, MOSES BARBER OF SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RHODE ISLAND (Decorah, IA, 1984), 379 (FHL #929.273 B233s). John and Mary were said to be children of David and Mary (Barber) Moore. Both died young. Although it is possible that these children existed, no evidence has been found, and Schroeder's accuracy on other matters is poor.
