- BIRTH: No birth rec found. John is identified in the will of his father, George Soule of Duxbury, 11 Aug 1677, no probate act, codicil, 20 Sep 1677, inv 22 Jan 1679, Plymouth Colony Probate, 4:50-51 (FHL #567794). John's year of birth is calculated from age 74 on deposition in land dispute, 8 Mar 1705/6 (Plymouth County Deeds, 7:35 [FHL #558813]).
MAR #1: No mar rec found. On 30 Dec 1674 Moses Simons deeded land to John Soule of Duxbury "in consideration of a marriage heretofore consumated between John Soule and my eldest daughter Rebecca" (Plymouth Colony Deeds 4:1:43 [FHL #567789]).
MAR #2: No mar rec found. The Samuel Sampson estate was adm by his widow Esther, who exhibited inv, 5 Jul 1678, "and whereas Easter Sampson...is towards marriage with John Soule," Soule was bound by the court to protect the estate for his stepchildren (Plymouth Colony Probate 3:2:108,120 [FHL #567794]). She is not Esther Nash as often printed. See TAG 15:165-67.
